Online concept
Masterclass Intensive Care Medicine consists of 15 teaching units each lasting up to 2 hours. All units are based on the Zoom Meetings tool and are presented entirely online. The course includes synchronous and asynchronous units. Students learn from active exchange with the lecturers and have the possibility to ask questions at any time. The interactive events take place within the intensive care unit or in the emergency room.
Video based
We use modern audio-video systems to film intensive care interventions such as intubation, tracheotomy, bronchoscopy, the installation of a thoracic chest tube or the extracorporeal circulation (ECMO). The demonstration takes place on simulation manikins and spawning. A team of six medical students accompany patients and doctors throughout everyday clinical practice and impressively conveys topics relevant to intensive care medicine.

Case scenarios
We accompany each patient for two weeks in the intensive care unit, through ups and downs. We define clear learning goals, which at the same time give a broad overview of evidence-based intensive care medicine. No critical-care medical knowledge is required to participate in the course.
Workspace
This course includes interaction with students from different universities from other countries. All events are recorded via Sharepoint and available retrospectively on this website in our internal area. All recordings can be viewed with subtitles and translation.

Test and certificate
The success of Masterclass Intensive Care Medicine is checked in an interactive online exam using practical examples.
